Pre-Start Precautions:
Do not start the diesel generator until all pre-start checks and preparations are complete. Ensure the operation mode selector switch is in the “OFF” position.
Before starting the diesel generator or switching the operation mode selector, verify that the following systems are functioning normally:
Battery charging power supply
Control and signaling system power supply
Cooling water temperature control
Air system
Fuel system
Lubrication oil system
Detailed checks include:
① Turn on the battery charging power supply. Confirm that the charging power indicator is lit (red) and the battery voltage is around 24V–30V. The battery capacity should be sufficient for nine consecutive starts of the generator.
② Ensure the cooling water temperature heater power is on and its indicator (red) is lit.
③ Check that the indoor fuel storage tank (which should hold enough fuel for 8 hours of full-load operation) has an adequate oil level, and open the generator fuel inlet valve. The fuel transfer mode should be set to manual.
④ Bleed air from the fuel system before starting. Otherwise, the engine may fail to start properly.
